Learning Objectives​

By the end of the webinar, nurses will be able to:

  • Describe normal thermoregulation

  • Explain the thermoneutral zone

  • Summarize heat production and heat loss

  • Differentiate fever from hyperthermia

  • Describe the mechanism of fever

  • Explain the stages of fever, including why chills occur first and sweating later

  • Explain the mechanism of action of antipyretics

  • Perform a systematic nursing assessment of a patient with fever

  • Recognize danger signs and escalate care appropriately

Certificates

A certificate will be awarded to participants who:

  • Attend at least 90% of the session (please note: the webinar will start exactly at 10:00),

  • Complete the post-test and achieve a score of 70% or higher.
