Learning Objectives

  1. Describe the mechanism and stages of fever

  2. Apply a systematic nursing assessment

  3. Recognize how patient-specific characteristics modify the presentation and risk of fever, particularly in:
    a) pediatric patients
    b) elderly patients
    c) immunocompromised patients
    d) during pregnancy
    e) postoperative patients

  4. Discuss whether “fever is a friend or a foe” and justify when it is appropriate to focus on symptom control versus when escalation should be prioritized

Certificate

A certificate will be awarded to participants who:

  • Have attended at least 90% of the session (please note: the meeting will start promptly at 10:00)

  • Have completed the post-test with a score of 70% or higher
